I normally refrain from posting personal stuff unless it is late at night, so have a pyramidical Citroen as an apology.
The emptiness is coming back, I feel it. It's been some time since I quit the sleeping and depression pills, they made me numb to the my relationships and myself. It's better to feel bad than to feel nothing at all. But feeling bad sucks.
This whole ordeal turned me into a dick. I'm blasé and I can't really stand people around me, caring is hard. But in the same way those who I enjoy being around are noticing all this, and once again my closest friends are fading away and I blame me.

Take the antidepressants. I went off a long time ago, and it wasn't pretty. I'm now down to just Wellbutrin, and it takes the edges off. And like heliochrome85 - steve.reiness@gmail.com. Send me your skype, and we can talk about this.

Just remember that those people are there for you, and like us, if you talk to some of them, chances are they'll be able to help you to. If nothing else, talking to those closest to you will help you and them realize that you are not distancing yourself from them.
-I have absolutely no experience in therapy, barely any experience in life, but I'd like to hope I can still help out.

I think I will, quitting smoking and all the pills at the same time wasn't such a great idea. Talking about this and not having to pay $200 for someone to discuss life and all its foibles with me would be nice for a change but I really should sleep, I guess I needed to empty my head before going to bed. It's 2am here and I need to wake up at 5:30. Thanks Steve.

I'd really enjoy that but I have about 3 hours left to sleep, I guess all I needed as to throw some of thoughts on (internet) paper before going to bed. Thanks helio

Answering me was a great help on its own, if I had time I sure would, but I should get some sleep, only 3 more hours until I have to shower and head to the office

You can't fight depression yourself, If the medication you were taking didn't make you feel right you need to take a different medication. I'm 38 years old and have dealt with it for over 20 years. I also don't sleep well even now but I can tell you that in my experience sleeping pills are evil and anti-depressants are a literal life saver. just my experience but I will share that wellbutrin did not agree with me and Ambien almost killed me several times. Ambien is the devil, I cannot stress this enough, it messes with me in ways I never wish to experience again. Antidepressants work differently for each individual and I've had to change types 5 or 6 different times as each lost effectiveness over time. Cymbalta has worked very well for me for the longest amount of time. Paxil (worked great for a year then stopped working suddenly) Lexapro and Effexor worked well(no bad side effects with these two just lost effectiveness over time). Please, I beg you, do not try to manage depression on your own. You also may be better off seeing a Psychiatrist (Medical doctor, not a psychologist they cannot prescribe meds and focus on therapy which is useful in addition to meds) then letting your family doctor manage it. Finding the right medication can take time but it will give you a new lease on life. If you have thoughts or feelings about hurting yourself please let someone know immediately. There is no shame in seeking out help and wanting to feel better.

Just after midnight here ... whether it's alcohol or meds, you need to ease off them, not go cold turkey. Ask Amy Winehouse. A voice silenced.
